La Flèche is best known for its Prytannee, the high standard military academy in France. From the time of Napoleon on it is located in a former convent.
The river Le Loir runs throug the city; it’s a smaller equivalent of La Loire.
Baugė is a typical medieval town with a rich history. In the castle, which dates from the 15th century, the tourist office is housed. You can find information on numerous attractions, etc. in the area.
Every 14th of July a medieval festival is organized in the square outside the castle including large fireworks at sundown.
Interesting big cities are nearby. For example Le Mans, Tours and Angers.
Also Saumur, Chinon and Durtal are very worthwhile for visiting.
